Lainey Day is a New York City-based vocalist and songwriter whose sound sits at the intersection of indie pop and alternative R&B, emotionally direct, vocally expressive, and deeply personal in its writing. Influenced by the soulful intimacy of Amber Mark, the confessional warmth of Olivia Dean, and the atmospheric indie pull of The Marías, she's building a sound that's entirely her own.

Raised in Redding, Connecticut, Lainey grew up performing first in rock bands, then in a cappella, and eventually under the mentorship of vocal coach Max Lawrence at Lawrence Studios in New York City. That foundation shows. Her voice is her instrument and her songwriting is where she lives.

Since August 2025 she has been performing original sets for audiences across Manhattan and Brooklyn, developing a live show that is equal parts intimate and commanding. Her debut single released in early 2026, surpassing 5,000 streams in its first week. Her debut 5-track EP, recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn, releases April 2026. She has worked with producers including Will Adler of Stolen Gin, with additional material slated for release in summer 2026.
